Our
Origins
BARRC (The BLAIRGOWRIE AND RATTRAY REGENERATION COMPANY)
was launched in November 2007 following a report by Stevens Associates
- one of the leading consultants in tourism and leisure.
This report entitled
“The Wider Community” was funded by the Big Lottery
Fund, with further support from Perth & Kinross Council.
The discussion explored
various potential development opportunities which could shape
the future and raise the profile of the East Perthshire towns
of Blairgowrie and Rattray for the cultural, environmental and
amenity values to the community as a whole.
On that basis, a
group of prominent local business and private individuals were
brought together to consider and evaluate the proposals and formulate
a strategy for the way ahead in the immediate and long-term future.
