"The Living River"

The development of the west bank of the Ericht from the Cuttle Burn almost up to the Oakbank Mill will be the central part of the BARRC regeneration projects. This land - 12 acres -has been donated to BARRC by a local landowner and benefactor to the town.

It is envisaged that this area will be used for wild gardens, moving sculptures and educational features as well as more adventurous pursuits. The natural wildlife and cultural heritage of this area will be used to provide an attraction for local people as well as visiting tourists.

The proposed Visitor centre and the Hydro scheme will bracket this development and all will come together as "the Living River project".

Currently we are in discussion about these developments and will update this page regularly as and when more information becomes available.
