New
Visitor Centre on the banks of River Ericht
BARRC has been involved recently
in intensive discussion with the Scottish Government who have granted
TCRF money to build a new Visitor Centre on the Banks of the Ericht.
Problems arose in the summer with
the demise of the construction company. Other problems arose to
hold things back e.g. it was clear that the original designed building
was going to be way over budget.
We have rethought the whole building
and have appointed a new Architect. A dedicated building team has
been working very hard to create an attractive, viable building.
We are confident that we can still
achieve the original goals and bring the project in on time and
on budget.
We are still waiting to have
a final decision by the Minister Alex Neil. He is asking for an
Independent Assessment whic will take another 6 weeks to report.
In discussion with P&K Council
we have been advised to seek local opinion and views. We
need your support.
We are doing this by displaying a
model of the building and the consultative drawings in the One Voice
Office.
You can visit there and give us your
views and support or e-mail onevoice@blairgowrieandrattray.co.uk
The Office closes for Christmas on
23rd December and will open again on 11th January. The display is
in the window at 11 Upper Mill Street, Blairgowrie
BARRC is deeply grateful for all the help and guidance from
all those with whom we have engaged to make this project happen
